Hi all, I have just set up my first Aquaponics system and am looking forward to the ride . Fingers crossed it goes well, time will tell. I have made the system from 3 IBC units. One is for the fish tank, approx.950 ltr capacity but I have approx 850 ltrs in it at present. I am currently using one grow bed made from another IBC utilising the base and side bars for the bedstructure as per normal. I have another grow bed made from another IBC to add to the system at a later date as the fish I have are still small, and nutrients are scarce at the moment. I currently have 10 gold fish ( for startup seeing they are fairly hardy fish ) and 10 Silver Perch fingerlings. The system has just been brought on line with plants and fish so will see how it goes. It's great to be apart of your group and am looking forward to many interesting hours of enjoyment. |
