Hello everyone. Just wanted to give a short intro about myself. I have been interested in aquaponics since I first found out about it back in the mid to late 90's. It is something that I have wanted to try since then and I have done a fair amount of research into it. It has not been a possibility however because I am from Alaska and that is not the best location for such an operation. However about 2 years ago my wife an I moved out of Alaska to West Virginia. We live in a part of the state that is in zone 5 which is colder than other parts of the state but I think that the conditions will be fine here. I am collecting some of the things that I will need to put a system together but have a little ways to go before I start constructing anything. I am sure I will have a lot of questions along the way. Anyways I am glad to be a part of this forum and hope to learn some things and share my progress getting set up. Thanks, Greebe |

Welcome aboard Greebe.... you might not be in Alaska anymore... but if it's pretty cold where you are in Virginia... Then this thread might give you some ideas... viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1378&p=44014 Or there's Zsazsa's thread... in Hungary.... viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9276&p=267366 |

Thanks for the welcome. I will start browsing through those links. There are a lot of pages so it might take some time. The one problem I Think I might face is finding a big enough fish tank. I would like to find a IBC but I have not had any luck so far. I might have to just build a tank out of wood and then use pond liner for now. Greebe |
