Just wanted to introduce myself and join the aquaponics discussion!
First of all, I'm a second year economics student currently living in Utrecht, The Netherlands (Holland). I heard about aquaponics from a friend of mine who is currently studying biology in Amsterdam...I really liked the sound of sustainably food production at home because this whole global economy we currently live in is doomed and I'd like to prepare myself for the turbulent future we have in front of us.
Sustainably and independent food production and living on my own piece of land is my dream but that's going to take a while for a poor student like me! So for the time being I'm just lurking on the forums and I'm here to learn as much as I can!
For anybody who currently has a working setup or is planning to build a setup in Europe, I'd like to offer my services and help for next summer as I'm looking for a chance to learn aquaponics from first hand experience.. My plan is to do some WWOOFing and I'm really eager to help fellow aquaponic enthusiast by maintaining or setting up a aquaponics system!
