Hi, I have just joined this group and am totally green. I have downloaded the free manual and it is fantastic. I've also watched the video and I think this is the way i will start my new venture in Brisbane when I return home.
We live in a Queenslander with an East facing balcony at the back. I would like to have the garden beds on the balcony with the fish tank on the ground. This is unused space, is ugly and I was going to make a fish pond anyway before I heard about Aquaponics. I don't think the balcony would support a heavy tank filled with water. Is it possible to run the system this way? I suppose it depends on the length and diameter of piping and the power of the pump, but that may be too simplistic. Any ideas?

It can be done. As you say, you will just need a pump which can pump a decent amount of water to the height of your growbeds.
