Hi all! I'm a new member of this forum. Let me introduce my self. I chat from the warm south of Italy and I've fallen in love of Acquaponic. I've always been interested about farming and growing in general. But, find a large area to do it is often diffucult when you live in a town.. So, I started to look about alternative cultures and study something more about it. So, I "discovered" acquaponic! Now I want to learn more, and have my own acquaponic farm, as soon as possible. I'd also like to organize workshops trying to understand how to do it and which are the obstacles produced by plants or if you should buy or modules, to understand a little the market. Someone could help me?! |

Thank you for your welcome!!! Well, my first objective will be to organize a small homemade acquaponic system (so I'd like to know about your experiences, your first steps. Was it difficult?), and then I want to bring acquaponic in the centre of my town... even with a sort of Farm Shop. I understand most of you are not from Europe (neither Italy). Is there anyone from "here" that could tell me about his experience in this area of the globe... with this clime, ect? |

Welcome to the Forum. Go back to the front page and download the FREE Ebook about using IBC containers in AquaPonics. There is a great deal of info for the beginner to AP here and you can expand on the idea to suit your self. There is a good explanation of the Nitrogen cycle that you will need to know and understand. |

Well, thank you to you too, Don. I've started to read the free ebook you talk about: it's great. After your experience, I want to ask you about the proportion between the numbrer of fishes and liters of water for the pool for a family use (about 3-4 persons). I read (if I've well understood) that the fishes growing could also depend from the ph level.. Is it true? and if it's so, do you think it could be a "solution" for taking under controll the growing or is it better to do it with the right ph level (I don't remenber now how much), ect? |
