Newbie from Missouri, USA. Getting real close to starting my system. Had to remodel my basement first. Real concerned about filtration of solid waste? As in how to collect it and how to get rid of it?

Get the solids to the growbed(s) and let them take care of it there.

Some people pump the solids there. Others use a SLO (me included)

Yes GB should take care of solids, sometimes its necessary to remove them manually if the system gets overloaded, buy a well designed system should take care of it. SLO or pump from FT to GB's then to sump is the best way to keep solids under control.

This system will be in a basement so we need to know system details. Like how many fish, what sort of growbeds, ie, gravel, dwc etc.
More details or ideas please
Edit or maybe the basement remodling is unrelated LOL
