So, I'm really intrigued by the idea of AP and am most definitely going to get a system going in the near future. It would seem however that by looking around (all over the web and even in here) that these systems are more for leisure and hobby rather then actually trying to build a food supply source. It seems more focused on the supplemental side. Most of what I've seen people growing are very light leafy green type foods. What about things like corn, potatoes, zucchini, egg plant, onions, green beans, yams, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons ... ya know, things people could actually make full meals out of. Any information would be extremely valuable to me. If this has been discussed elsewhere please point me that way. Please pardon my ignorance. |

I dont have any info for you as I to am setting up my first one. But I do plan on living off my system and feeding my family of 3 with extras. So far I have seen systems on here that grow corn, tomato, zucchini, beats, leaks, radish, green beans, cucumbers, watermelons, grapes, fruit trees, strawberries, and more. |

Hi! I'm also a newbie in this forum. I joined this forum because I want to gather information regarding plumbing/plumbing services... Hoping for your kindness. Thank you! |

Look under the plants topic or search "size does matter" you will see that most everything grows in AP. My squash are doing great as are the beans I have planted. Lettuce did amazing and took forever to go to seed even in 110 degree AZ heat. |

Have a look through my thread. I've grown just about everything. There are a few things I wouldn't recommend in AP (mint and potato), but they are the exception, not the rule. |
