HI Everybody. I started to read about AP about three weeks ago, so two weeks ago I went out and bought a golden carp about 1.5 inches long, put him in a bucket, caught some fresh water srimp and added them to the bucket,,, last week I went to the river and collected gravle for my grow beds, and on the weekend I went to the rubbish dump to find a pump. I am now finished my setup Attachment: first setup 002.JPG [ 105.77 KiB | Viewed 9046 times ]

this system has been cycling since sunday. as the wife thinks this hobby is not worthwhile I am not allowed to spend any money on it so I only spent $9 so far... half of that was for the gold fish $4.5 and the other half is what I had paid for stuff that I had laying around... the pump is on a timer 15 mins every hour I would love to expand to IBC's however for now I will settle for 20L drums and a washing machine pump

hmmm wires. already triped over the cable at night. gee it made some prity blue sparks. will solder and insulate very soon, have thought about some shade for the tank. I have only been married 8 months, if I did what you guys are saying, I might be divorced. oh it would be nice to buy a bigger system |

3 or 4 and they should power some lettuce and herbs in your system. A test kit would be handy but if SWMBO has her foot on your head, just run with it and it will work. |

careful with that metal over the tank at the bottom - the screen.. looks galvanized, that can leach some nasties into the system have you added anything to cycle after you first fish died? |
