Post subject:  G'day from Cairns!!

Hi all, another noob here!

I have been lurking around for a few months and decided it high time for me to sign on up. I don't currently have a system, but in the process of mental planning and knowledge gleaning to set up soon...

A bit of history about me: I have been keeping tropical FW aquariums for about six years and currently have two tanks set up in my house, one a 2ft/70L planted on a DIY cabinet with CO2 and a 3ft/225L CADE, also heavily planted/scaped, lots of CO2 and lighting to match. I first heard of AP a couple years ago and toyed with the idea for a while, then a mate recently raised the topic again and we have both decided to give this a go. I intend a f/d system using a modified/chopped IBC (or maybe two! ;) ) as both tank and bed. Will likely grow tomatoes, maybe bok-choy and a few herbs to begin with. Maybe even some broccoli or the like...

IF ANYONE IN CAIRNS KNOWS OF CHEAP IBCs GETTING AROUND, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! :)

Anyhoo, enough rambling. I probably don't have a lot to contribute, just yet, so I am just gonna hang around and steal everyone's ideas and ask endless noob questions until my hunger for knowledge is satisfied :D

Hi there Jen.... :wave1:

Might be pushing it with salt water systems, it's an area that hasn't had many inroads, especially in the "backyard" sort of field... Lots of fresh water systems around though. :)
