:notworthy: to Sleepe

The systems must have a level of aesthetically pleasure. Aesthetics will be a category.

What's the timeframe we should give competitors? Three days? Five days? Maybe 24 hours with all the necessary materials on-site. :-)

Better be handy with them tools.

LOL

"I love it when a plan comes together". :geek:

I also want to finish converting America to use the metric system, all because of BYAP. Do you think that's too much to reach for? :dontknow:

Ok I will try and make this a simple answer as to why chift2 pist split systems work, the pump I use is split into 15mm and 25mm pipe, the pump is capable off 3000ltr per hour with a 15mm threaded fitting, the two grow beds are fully open valves ATM, the fish tank is partially open ATM, plus I have a forth valve for excess runoff, into the sump tank, monitoring the water flow is quite simple, and easy to adjust! Fish poo and uneaten food goes through the filter, allowing the nutrients back to the sump tank, water too the grow beds is cleaner so no blocked pipes! The mix of filtered water and GB water is around 15% GB 65% FT 20% ST, so only 15% off the water goes through the grow beds per hour, I also use timers! So the water only flows when I want it too! As for air I have a AC/DC air pump on 24/7, with two outlets one to ST, one to FT, the extra over flow water and the GB water exit pipe are submerged, its quite a simple logical design, for what I am looking for in IBC aquaponics, and yes they all have a venturi type fitting, so extra aeration to the sump tank,

In summery, the plants are doing fine, the fish are happy, the filters are working at 100% now, the new indoor 200ltr aquarium quarantine tank is running now,

The only problems I have is to what to plant next?

Jump on the Gardenate website, or download their app. It's great :-) shows you what to sow for your climate each month.

Thanks but my system is too new to plant anything more than I have in it now, apart from lack off full sun on the whole Gbs, I think I have a potassium deficiency? Some of my leafs are brown on the outside, and there are holes on the inside, no bugs? The guy at green something, in Cannington sold me some tablets, slow release potassium and other products made just for aquaponics! They have only been in since Tuesday but I have already noticed improvements in the effected plants, there is a clip on you tube about it, the browning off the leaves that is, there are a lot of things available in the USA that we don’t have here? Well not in the shops I have visited? But I did plant some tomatoes and capsicum in plant pots today,

How is your system going?

Any progress shots on how things are growing?

A few so far, you may notice the cats again? every time I start talking they join in? chatty little buggers they are,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNjbjuhJ9PQ

I have the four Barra and three silver perch outside in the IBC/FT 750ltrs when the pump is running, drains to 700ltrs when its all quiet, the goldfish are inside till winter, I thought I would fatten them up a bit before I get the trout fingerlings I want a dozen or so in autumn before winter starts, keep them inside till it gets cool, I am thinking of keeping one of the Barra and one Silver inside over winter? Just to see how big they get, I am thinking of getting a bigger indoor tank before then too, bigger than the 200ltr fish tank I have now. I have harvested a few lettuce so far, but I had two that got bug damage? I am replacing plants as fast as I am taking them out, I have a small nitrate build-up ATM. But I have been putting my aquarium water changes into the IBC system each time, even my daughter has with her fish tank, everything is going good!

I have Barra! Growing outside my backdoor!

:D :headbang: :headbang:
