Welcome back Angie. I could care less about black smithing... Just kidding, that is awesome. My wife's suite mate in highschool became a farrier.

I don't do technical, so an explanation; 5000L tank, one BA grow bed, and another 400L of grow beds poorly placed so not very productive. The problem is they are under the eves of the shed, so not enough light. In the future I may replace the colour bond over the eves with clear sheeting. I suspected a potential problem before I placed the beds, however small spaces equal compromise, I crossed my fingers and learned to prepare for much more work than you ever plan on.

I originally had the BA bed on the south fence, but after 5 months nothing was growing well, so I have moved the bed to its current position. Been running for about a month in its current position, and going well. I had fruit trees on the south fence for about 6 years, they grew vigorously, but never produced fruit (aside from the lemon tree). The current location would only be about 2 meters from the fence, an amazing difference in growth rates for such a small move.

More pics to come.

My front pond is a work in progress. I have recycled my four old grow beds, which are 400-500 litres each, and I plan on trying fruit trees in them. I have not calculated the volume of the front pond, I would estimate around 3000L. I want to put a few bream in, just have small natives in now to keep mozzies at bay.

My front pond was vandalised severely by some local children over a period of time, eventually they punctured the liner, killed all of the fish, over $1000 worth of koi (valuation from a koi dealer, most were over ten years old). The police would not do anything as the kids were under 10, the RSPCA were not interested in the torture they were inflicting on the fish, and the children's mother was completely uninterested in what the kids were doing. When caught red handed the kids would tell you where to go. Very frustrating.

So it took me a few years before embarking on a new front pond project. As with most of my projects, most materials are recycled, aside from the pond liner. The timber for the bridges is from verge pick ups, stones donated when in laws removed pond, sculptures and copper spouts made by me.

My dingo really has a dislike for children. I don't think she would eat one though. She growls at them a lot. Far too cowardly to approach one though, she feels much safer growling from behind a window or behind mum's legs.

Now it looks like that post came out of nowhere. I deleted the posts I made, because researching the joke I made, I found the reference quite sad.

The jokes will never go away, despite the horrendous nature of their inspiration. You hear it constantly being a dingo owner, you shrug it off despite your personal opinion of the truth of the case. The nature of a joke is jest, I don't look beyond the quip and analyse where it came from, what it means and who it could possibly offend. I accept some jokes are in bad taste, but taste is subjective and there is very little in this world that doesn't offend someone somewhere.

Got a lot more tolerance than I have; would have put the fish in a bucket let them rot for a few days and dumped them on the mothers lawn, and some of the liquid in a super soaker in case the little bastards came round again. :)

BTW the copper spouts look good but they will eventually increase the copper levels in your fish pond.
