thanks alot guys will do soem more reading. Kinda miffed as I was really looking forward to growing Marron.
Baring that what exactly can I do?. Perth winters can be cold so if I put Barra in there this winter coming, an leave them to Xmas, are they going to be worth eating ?.

I want to make it so when I take a fish out for eating I replace it with new stock. SO its constantly going.
But in doing this, I am gonna need alot more filter/pumps wont I ?. As marron an yabbies dont produce sod all waste compared to Barra.

I had already read that suburban farmer post. Interesting. I notice at Aquaponics WA they have about 8-10 in a tank but they are small. They also keep shade cloth over them in water an apparently it keeps them calm.

I will try it once an see what happens, but I think I am gonna take your advice's an just forget it after a curiosity attempt.

The one thing that I have learnt, is that BYAP is based on compromise.. availability and cost being two considerations..

Having started with a more typical IBC system, I learnt from system issues, that square grow beds are great and square fish tanks are a real compromise..

ROUND Fish Tanks are superior .. far superior.. :headbang:
IMHO... the benefits of round are many.. First, you inject the entry water to cause the water to spin and this gives the fish something to actually swim within.
Second... you will find that wastes Migrate to the centre more.readily, and thus removal is far easier via SLO'..

so, the only detraction s possible cost.. and living in the big smoke can help there...

Gumtree or ebay helps there, and my experience has shown that people are getting over the "green" water-tank thing and some are being removed..
Some may be damaged, and thus you can find useable tanks that can be cut down for fish tanks, for small cost..

I have made two fish tanks from one tall water tank ..
I have won a damaged.tank for $1 and being fiberglass, it is easily repaired..

So, my advice would be to.start looking and pounce when the opportunity arises ..
..

yer, I can see value in looking round. I would personally love to have 6-10 IBC tanks all Daisey chained in back yard, but it aint happening lol... So I need to try an spend my $$ more carefully.
