Thanks all, it looks like they will survive.
It's so funny. Yesterday my wife gave them food and when I looked 30 minutes later, they came up to the surface again for more.

Agreed Bender, I haven't heard of anybodies fish dying yet of underfeeding. I have kept away from auto feeders. In fact my fish hadn't had a feed for almost two weeks just now. Turned in flaming piranha's instead of SP.

All good with the fish after a week of no feeding.
They were very hungry as expected but no casualties, even at the high temperatures we got last week in Perth.

Hi Andrew,
We bought the standard Entertainer system as it is with the standard pump.
No additional filter as the grow beds are the filter.

Hiya Wilsil,
And belated welcome to the forum :wave1:
We'd still be interested in your water test results when you have them. The initial couple months are when things can be a bit dicey while you wait for cycling to settle things down. No doubt you've seen posts sharing stories of losses in the early months of new systems.
I love how neat those purchased systems are. Now the big challenge is keeping it that neat as the urge to tinker and expand gets to you
Cheers, T

We are still happy with the system.
Some plants are doing better then others, but that might have to do with standing in full sun.
We are eating the spinach, lettuce and tomatoes.
The rhubarb grows well, can't wait to eat them.

After the RCD went last night, I am especially happy with the back up battery in the air pump.

:wave1: Hi Wilsil,
Apologies for not being on the forum for so long and missing out on how the system is going. It looks like it is ticking along nicely. You have done the right thing by joining the forum as these guys and girls are fantastic. Im glad the members have been giving you the right advice. Definitely dont use an automated feeder in these systems. The fish will be fine for weeks. You know where we are if ever you need some face to face advice and always happy to throw a few cuttings your way.

Cheers :flower:

A few pictures to show that the system is still working.
We noticed that there is something eating our kale and that the beans are sprouting and then died.
Even the tomato seeds are coming up but don't grow any further, same with the capsicum plants.
But the silver beet, rhubarb, lettuce and herbs are going well.
