So i have done my half water change today and things in the tank are going well .
7. 6 ph 17degrees min 21 degrees max today :D woot woot what a brilliant sunny day we had.
havent messured the ammonium as i will still wait for the water to settle. i did messure the ec and it was back down to 0.8 :D
also in other news i might be able to get a couple ibc's from work :) , so the upgrade might happen sooner rather than later .....

so i finally built my system on the weekend :) with no deaths ..... but i did do ALOT of water changes.alot.
the bio filter is up and running . my pump is fitted and working . the only thing i need now is the heater and uv light that i ordered from queensland ( they sent the wrong thing ) but they should arrive at the end of this week so i should be able to fit them on this weekend .
1 major thing i am worried about is the temp . my tank is getting down to 12.8 degrees ! so i really am ready for this heater .
I am also thinking of getting a couple of marron and putting them in the top oxygen tank just to filter out any crap that the bio filter doesnt get . in my bio filter i ended up putting 3 large packets of bio noodles you get from the pet shop .hmmmmmmmmmmmm what else. i have some pics and videos for you guys so i would love some feed back...haha
how do i put pics and videos on this forum ??
cheers

Hi eagle, yea upload to you tube then copy the link.

When you open a new text box and you locate where you want to paste the vid, hit the "youtube" button and it will look like this and then paste the link between the ][ brackets.

Then you need to delete all the stuff between the brackets in the link till up to and including the equals sign until you are left with the last section of code.

Delete stuff in red as per example below

e.g.

Hey cheers doc
ok my bio filter :
its that blue bucket at the top that is glued to the lid of the clear container , i cut out about a 3 inch hole that connects them up . It then has a piece of 15 mm PVC pipe sitting on the base of the blue bucket for added support.
For the bacteria to grow i then placed a piece of shadecloth inside and wrapped the 3 packets of noodle in like a package that sits on the base of bucket ontop of the PVC support bar.
Ontop of that i got another piece of shadcloth doubled over ,put it in the bucket and wrapped up what i could of the pump outlet pipe (the clear pipe ) .
HOPEFULLY the doubled over shadecloth should catch the solids for me . i will just have to change it now and again . seems to be working though :headbang:
i am thinking of getting a couple of marron in the clear container just to get anything the filter doesnt. i have heard that marron dont like running water though, will they still be ok up there ? that water up there does run pretty fast and has got alot of oxygen in it .... what do you recon ? will they live ?
