Snow on the ground yesterday, freezing temps, but I was just out feeding the fish and the veggies in the greenhouse are doing great and we now have tomatoes showing up on the vines. Just before the cold snap hit I put a window in the back end of the greenhouse to be able to get a cross-draft going in there during the heat of the summer.

I am in amarillo and looking into a setup starting this fall. Really enjoyed reading your informative thread on your start up.

Noticed a Gene posting that he was from altus. That is my hometown and visit there often.

Come by and see the system sometime?

I'm glad there are other people here in Amarillo that are doing this! Been researching this for a while and I'm planning on giving it a shot. I am about to start my greenhouse and look forward to getting feedback from all the experiences everyones had. I picked up 24 old wooden framed windows this week and will be starting my greenhouse layout very soon. I was worried about the rollercoaster of temperatures we have here and I've learned a lot from reading about your experiences this last year. I'll be building a lean to design off the south and west wall of two parts of my house, so I think I'll be protected by the harsh north winds. I'll post more as I go, but I look forward to building the inside aquaponics setup and appreciate any feedback.

I've had a setback in my system as I had to make an unanticipated move. It meant I lost everything that was left in my greenhouse and in my outside garden. The catfish I had left were relocated to a pond. It was a challenge relocating the greenhouse but I'm not going to set aquaponics back up until the Spring. Instead I'm using the greenhouse to root some rose cuttings in case my mother's roses don't survive the move.

But I'm going to crank it up again after Easter.
