Hi I am here and I am ready to learn!

I am a microbiologist with a diverse background. I am currently studying fungal diseases as a post-doctoral researcher at the CDC. In my phd, I studied bacterial cooperation and the molecules they use to communicate. I also studied how nutrient formulations impact the stability of bacterial communities. Over the years, I have become increasingly interested in aquaponics. I have a heart for sustainability projects and believe aquaponics can be a valuable part of our future. While I've got a solid microbe background, I've got allot to learn about both fish and plants. I'm desperately craving the practical experience that comes with running my system. I built an outdoor system with 275 g IBC tote ~ 1yr ago, but ended up having to move before the system finished cycling  . Although I'm limited in time and money, I am very eager to get a small system going. I am currently trying to get a system going with our house hold fish tank. I am hoping to tap into the backyardaquapnics community for support to get this train rolling :headbang:

Thanks!

Joesauris
