Hi,
I'm Australian, looking/hoping to get an aquaponics farm and training center, to train people in Cambodia, happening in Kampot, Cambodia in the very near future.

I have a Canadian buddy who is going to help who has be farming aqaponically in Thailand for more than three years now.

I'm still trying to raise more funds to get started, offering shares in the business, which should see a return within 2 years, as longs as we raise $5000 or more.

I'm open to ideas, help and suggestions.

On the fish side of things, we'll probably start with Talapia and Cat Fish, before expanding with Barramundi and Bongkong ( Cambodian fresh water lobster).

On the fruit, vegetable and herb side of things we're looking to start fairly simply, before moving on to things that might be a bit more challenging.

It is legal to use Marijuana for cooking in Cambodia, so we'll probably be growing a bit of that, and making Cannobutter and Marijuana Oil.

I'm still looking for supplies and affordable materials to get set up, so if anyone reading this, who is in Cambodia knows where I can get secondhand water tanks, used IBC Pallets, or anything else that can be recycled and/or supplies of aquaponic and/or hydroponic manufactures and/or wholesales who would like to market in Cambodia, please let me know.

On another note, I'm also interested in farming goats and Rhode Island Red chickens is anyone has any contacts where I might source them.

I look forward to exchanging information.

Have a chil-axn aquaponic day

John (Big John) Newman-Lawes

Hi John, number one thing is to get a system going yourself to gain experience in aquaponics. My biggest tip, don;t wait around for more money or special bits, just built something out of whatever you can lay your hands on.

Same tip here, in 'Lean' Manufacturing they call this an MVP, Most Viable Product.
Now build two AP systems in the tropics myself and definitely couldn't have come this far without failing a lot in my first setup.

a commercial system is different than a backyard setup.

Get something running and sell it from there, personal experiences sofar in asia. People don't believe or understand the concept untill they see it in front of there eyes
