I think those are ramshorn snails. I don't worry about them too much but they can carry disease and although I haven't had it happen the shells could potentially jam up a pump.

Edit: Had to clear out and let the OS do it's bit. Try to limit their food source - http://www.aquariumcarebasics.com/freshwater-snails/ramshorn-snail/#RamshornSnailsEat
