Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Gabe and from Maryland in the States. I came across aquaponics roughly 2 months ago during my research for a hydroponics Greenhouse on my property. Since then the education and research has become what seems to be a bit of an addiction. I find myself watching YouTube videos late into the night and reading every bit of information I can find.

I currently grow some very large gardens on my property via normal methods without pesticides or commercial fertilizers. I've been doing this for quite some years, along with raising chickens and quail. Over the last 8 year's I've really been into sustainability, and attempting to grow and raise as much of my food as possible. On a side note I have a 300G Saltwater Reef Aquarium, that's been a hobby for close to 10 years, maybe that's why the aquaponics drew me away from hydro?


I had initially intended to build a lean to greenhouse(12x16) off one of my out buildings for hydroponics. I've decided to switch to aquaponics. Still deciding on the final size but I still want to do a lean to I think, and house the fish tanks in the outbuilding. I intended to continue my research, and education and not attempt to bring a system online until this upcoming March/April. I do intended to pour the pad and build the greenhouse in October. I'll be starting a build thread for constructive criticism and advice as I can use it all. And want to ensure I do everything I need to be during the build of the greenhouse that I should be.
