Hi all,

I have had a pond for over 5 years and had fish (of the salty kind) for more than 10.
I grow lots of my own vegies, but have never combined the two hobbies..

Looking forward to the adventure.

Axeman

Welcome axeman! What sort of fish are in your pond?

I started with a pond too, and have found that I had really quite good growth on my plants straight away, probably due to the bacteria already in my pond and readily available nitrates right from the get-go.

Looking forward to seeing your progress :)

My system thread (Pretty Aquaponics in my signature) is rather waffly, but it might help you out a bit with ideas for how it all goes together.

Best of luck to you :)

This is a picture of the pond 3 years ago. At one end it is 120cm at the other it is 20cm.
I have 4, 50cm koi, 6 x 40cm and 12 x 15 cm. the top area with the plants is now overgrown and I plan to transition the decorative plants to vegetables.
I have build pics of the original pond as well. It is cut out of sandstone.
