Hi there! Great to know you guys exist :-)
I have an aquaponicsc set up with 4 koi carp and some basic veggies like lettuce, chives and snow peas and tomatoes etc, and they're looking a bit tired and yellow. Can anyone suggest a fish friendly fertiliser to boost the nutrient level in thee water without hurting the fish?
Cheers!

Hi and welcome.
You can add Seasol to give your plants a boost

seasol doesnt have nitrates etc in it, therefore not a fertiliser so it depends on what your system is 'lacking'

If the water has no nitrates then i add powerfeed for veggies. Its made by the same as seasol but it has nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus in it. It smells like fish instead of seaweed. Can buy it from bunnings.

Ive never had a problem with the fish and i add a cap full or so to an IBC (600litres) every month or so.

may also be iron deficiency depending on where the yellow is. take care if adding nitrogen not to overload the biofilter.

Unfortunately we have rules
I have looked at a number of made up formulas, especially in hydro (which I get for nix), providing they do not contain additives and that the nutrient formulae is listed I have no problems ( aside from high nitrogen/ammonia formulaes) in using them as foliar feeds.

And BTW copper is/was used as a way of ridding fish of certain parasites. Minimal copper is a requirement for most life. However their is a fine line between pleasure and pain and crustacean's will be on the first hit list. :)
