Just building my first system! Just waiting for a delivery of Uniseals to join the main tank to the sump. Had real problems finding Uniseals in Spain and had to import them from the UK as marine sewerage valves!
Hope to have the pump installed by Friday and the seedlings into the towers by Saturday.

My next task is to source the fish for January and I was hoping that someone could point me to a European supplier of Tilapia; I need about 5-10 fish in my system.

Mazarron, I am based in Paris France and I am also looking for a supplier of Tilapia fingerlings and also in small quantities (300/year) compared to the big commercial system that deliver only 10k or more..

have you found any interesting ones ??

if I find anything I'll let you know but it seems Tilapia is still rare here, maybe switch to another fish ? perch ..?

Tilapia is not likely appropriate for your climate. I live in San Diego California, and tilapia are barely appropriate here. Perch, trout, or some catfish might be a better call. Are there any fish in the Seine? If so, those are the fish I would stock.

true that Tilapia is not appropriate for the climate but I would heat up the water to an appropriate temperature. Colder fish have a slower metabolism.

I need to figure out if it is cost effective to heat the water for higher productivity !

There is a point of diminishing returns when you heat the water. Trout have an incredibly fast metabolism. I have had my tilapia for about 1 1/2 years, and they still are not plate sized. People get they trout plate sized in under 9 months.

None. I was just letting LouGreens know that trout grow quite fast in cold water.
