Hi,
I posted this in the location forum but thought it should go to the new member forum too. My name is Deo Magbal Jr. and i have been doing aquavermiponics (with earthworms) for the past 2 years. I use scrap materials such as: IBC tanks, water containers, etc. Several years ago, a volcano erupted in the Philippines spewing tons of lahar. I use the lahar rocks as my grow medium. Very porous and light. I grow pechay, lettuce, kangkong, herbs like mint, tarragon, basil, coriander, dill, lemon grass, gotukola and recently I proved that the dragon fruit, a cactus plant, grows well in the grow bed! My fishes are pangasius, nile tilapia, red tilapia, catfish, mudfish, koi, aquarium fishes such as swordtail, guppies, mollies. I also grow duckweeds and feed them to my tilapias, pangasius and kois.

Thanks Charlie!

Right now I already have 4 IBC tanks for the AQ and 3 IBC tanks for growing duckweeds.
My 4 AP tanks are: 1 for small aquarium fish and fingerlings, 1 for large fish such
as: catfish, mudfish, eel, tilapia, perch, etc., 1 for tilapia fingerlings (nile and red) and
1 for adult pangasius and kois.
Know what? I am kinda near a large lake (Laguna Lake) .....3 kilometers and some small creeks in
my village going to that lake. Occasionally, kids catch some fish from the creeks...like
catfish, mudfish, tilapia, perch...and i buy them from the kids...put in the tanks.

And i am building another tank for saltwater. I found where I can buy seabass fingerlings.
I plan to raise seaweeds in the growbed. My growbed will only have 1/3 of it with rocks as filter,
will put there whatever saltwater plants i can find (maybe small mangroves or best if i can find
edible saltwater plants), 2/3 water for the seaweeds. It wont be F&D so will not have bell siphon.

In short, I am enjoying AP and will be doing it for the rest of my life!

Cheers,
Deo (Jetson)
