I'm new to the site as well as new to aquaponics. I've been doing a lot of reading here and am
going to put my first system together this coming summer. I am getting the materials together now. It is going to be a large system. I'm looking to put in a 1600 gallon FT and am planning 4 GB. 2 of them will be 21 feet long, 3 1/2 feet wide and 1 foot deep, 1 will be the same width and depth but 18 feet long and the 3rd on will be 3 1/2 feet wide, 18 feet long and 3 feet deep. I plan on using the last one for dwarf fruit trees. I am basing my system on the 2:1 ratio. I am going to do this system without a sump, as I plan on only having one bed filled at a time. I'm going to use a sequencing valve and timer to control the pump. The pump I plan on using is a Sunterra Direct Drive 3000 GPH pump with 2" outlet. This should supply enough pressure to run the sequencing valve. Then I plan on putting all this under a 20 foot x 32 foot greenhouse. As long as everything goes as planned.

Love the site, hope to be adding some useful info in the very near future.

Thanks for all the infor so far.
Terry

Welcome Terry, some of us Aussies will have trouble working out all the conversions to metric, but it sounds like you have a good plan of what you want, so good luck getting things up and running. Oh and dont forget to leave room for expansion, aquaponics is quite 'moreish' !
