Hi arbe,
I don't reckon 100 fish in 50,000 litres would give me anywhere near enough nutrients to grow anything in the beds.

I totally get that ratio with smaller systems would work fine, but on this scale there's things like the amount of algae, the buildup of debris in the bottom of the pond, the waterlilies and floating pots etc etc
I'm guessing I'll end up with somewhere between 200 and 400 fish.

100 fish @ 500 grams each (harvest size) require approximately 1700 litres of filtration/media regardless of them swimming around in 1000 litres of water or 55,000 litres of water.

Thanks arbe, very interesting theory.
What do the plants require?
Are there any examples online of this, I'd be keen to check em out.
