The american crawfish look similar to australian yabbies.

Heeps on the net about keeping and breeding yabbies, specially in fishing forums.
Yabbies are a great bait to use for catching murray cod and yellow belly ( Golden Perch)
Most of the info will be on keeping them in aquariums but could be adapted to keeping them in AP.
Biggest problem appears containment, they are the houdini's of the aquarium, breeding females are extremely agressive and will kill other yabbies nearby and not sure about crawfish but yabbies hibinate in winter so will need a place for this.

Regards
Ron
