Fellow BYAP forum members,
Our home in Bedfordale is a part of this year's Sustainable House Day and will be open to the public on 14/9/08 from 9am - 5pm.

It has been suggested that we will need at least 4 volunteers in the morning and another 4 in the afternoon, to act as guides for people visiting and to assist in traffic control (I have limited parking at the house and on-road parking is not possible).

While we have some volunteers already (from other groups we are involved with), we are seeking people who have some BYAP knowledge to assist in explaining the BYAP system we have and also in other areas.

To reduce the load on each volunteer, we have broken the day into 2 shifts of 4 hours, 9am - 1pm and 1pm - 5pm.

If you are able to assist us on the day, please PM me with your email address and phone number so that I can contact you direct with further information.
I am hoping that this will further increase the public awareness of Aquaponics, and this BYAP site.

As there are only 3 homes open this year, it is likely that we will have a large number of people attending.

Faye and EB,
Can you please send me some BYAP shop flyers and BYAP website information as handouts for visitors.

Regards,
Tony & Tayo

That is fine Tony, just pm me with your address and how many you think you need. I'll see how I go with time for the afternoon shift, can't promise anything yet though.

Can you make your house a bit closer please!

After working all morning, I don't really feel like riding down, if somehow I had an excuse to hire a car such as picking up a 2000l or 3000l tank I would be there.

Sorry to be difficult but that is the best I can offer

I wont be able to make it...
Have had a huge week, including a 17 hrs plus travel day
yesterday
...and no likely hood of a rest  soon.
Good luck with the day Tony, I hope you have some support.

I have been doing a pre-emtive Cold and Flu tablet dosing all day so I will fine for tomorrow (gonna need my voice it seems)... I am looking forward to seeing your setups.

I was wondering about parking, but after seeing your place on google maps, somehow I don't think that would be a problem... hehe.

See you there about 12 ish...

Wow, what a day, probably up to 400 people through the doors, everyone was amazed at the AP part of the house tour.

Joel may have a busy couple of weeks at the shop, pretty much all of the BYAP info sheets and cards were gone after 1 hour.

It was a very fun day, seeing the looks of amazement, and a lot of people were asking very good questions :D
