Some of you Due to the actions of a couple of members who have, in a fit of pique, decided to delete or edit away all the information in some of their posts, Administration has decided at this stage to remove the permissions for editing your own posts. It is unknown at this stage if the edit button will be returning. We can put up with some spelling errors, and if there is something that really needs fixing, please PM one of the mods or admin and politely ask their assistance. Thank you and enjoy your stay in Backyard Aquaponics Land

Yes....... Well, more to the point, their action in deleting all their posts from other threads, makes many threads unreadable and useless. |

Is it possible to allow edits up until another post is made to the thread? |

Or allow 2 edits per day, that would stop thread destruction. |

Found reference to the following: In phpBB 3.0.1 go to ACP -> General -> Post Setings -> Limit editing time. Not sure it applies to this version? |

That one may have been for individual users - this one, if it exists in this version, does it globally: Admin panel>general>board settings Limit editing time: |

Hmmm, no such global setting there... initial one, changed setting to 60 minutes, doesn't seem to have worked.. will try looking into it again tomorrow. |

Thanks for the Info J. Thanks also E.B. for attempting to get a compromise in the edit function. At the present time I am of the mind that if one wants to delete their posts it should be allowed. I know you didn't ask for my opinion. It's sad that some have reached the point for whatever reason to delete all that they have shared. Understandable to have the stance that once posted its in stone as well. O'well before I wander all about on the subject, Thanks for all your doing! In a fit of rage or under Alien control I would like the option to delete some of the bad pictures I have posted. (Hint) B-days comming up. I could use a nice camera. |
