hi

i have seen videos where people are using mineralization tank to break up solid waste. but i have mot found any thing on how this is introduced back into the system. Most of the time the water hs high nitrtite for weeks. And also i want to know how the worm tea or compost tea might be used?

thanks for the responses

If your mineralisation tank is simply a water filled drum with plenty of aeration from the bottom, then turn off the air, let the solids settle out, which doesn't take long at all, and drain the clean water from the top of the MT back into your sump tank. A tap about 2/3 of the way down the side of the MT helps with this.

If you treat small amounts of solids regularly, then Ammonia and Nitrite aren't an issue in the main system when the treated water is added back in. If you are worried about it, drain the treated water into your ST in 3 or 4 stages, a couple of hours apart. The small amount of water going back in should see any Ammonia and/or Nitrites well diluted by the time it goes through the system, and a healthy, well balanced system should take care of such a small amount fairly quickly.
