"Gourmet farmer" Matthew Evans is opening a can of .... Fish! Thursday 830 sbs.

Check out his website for his "label my seafood" campaign.

I personally appreciate his efforts very much.

What's your thoughts?

I agree it's a good and worthwhile cause, perhaps when he's done there he could carry on with food labelling in general starting with his contemperaries Maggie Beere and family, organics , free range chicken, free range eggs etc etc etc.....

Perhaps we will get Evans labelled/approved seafood

Perhaps after this series like after the first one he will buy another bigger and better farm...sorry can't help it...

Perhaps....this should go in the Venting thread

Ohhh, your in a cynical mood Matthew...

I like the guy, not that I know him exactly, but he seems to have some ideals and spreads a good message which is seriously lacking on the idiot box now a days.

Yep you're probably quite right E.B a bit cynical but the world seems to be full of it
These types do have a good message but they often are found to be pushing their own cart, which they choose to be a bit underhand about.
Mr River Cottage leading the charge rambling round in his old landy wanting to be down to earth , one of the people blah blah ,show everyone how to live the good life, then have his man drive him around London in his private limo....shame he doesn't show that on his T.V show but rocking up at the farm in a chauffer driven top of the range Merc doesn't have quite the same effect

I get everyone needs to turn a dollar, good message yeah sure I get that, but perhaps if you are going to sell a story (which seems to be a marketing catch cry of late) give the whole story.

And after watching the first of three episodes I do not expect much more then the green washed fluffy and wage information a well informed consumer should already have.... And now I am really biting my....
Selective short information comes close to consumer manipulation...
