| Post subject: | what water test kit to get Pls |
Hi guys I am cycling my first aquaponics system for a week as I have seen previously posted and I am now looking forward to testing the water before the fish arrive. What type of testing kit would you recommend? I have seen the liquid ones you mix water with and the strips which test 5 different things however they seem expensive almost a $1 a strip? Is there a post which explains where the water minerals should be? Thanks Norman |

The most common one used seems to be the API freshwater test kit. It comes with bottles of test chemicals and test tubes instead of strips. Usually you don't have to worry about minerals, just pH, ammonia, nitrite, and to a lesser extent nitrate. |
