Next month we are going to have some price rises on our systems and components here at the shop. We have kept the prices the same for over three years now, but we need to lift them to keep up with rising costs.

If you've been thinking about a system or some extra bits for your system, you might want to get in before prices go up.

Australia has enjoyed the fruits of a high Aussie dollar. Now it is correcting expect pain on the purse on everything from your Chinese groceries to that new BYAP system.

Kalgoorlie has copped it massively in the past few months. The recent dip in the gold price and the following fall of the aussie dollar has seen businesses close, redundancies and massive pay cuts and tight purse strings across all industries.

We are in a bad way out here and its not looking like clearing up any time soon. LAst week alone there was in excess of 1000 people layed off and we expect more this week coming.

Having lived in the goldfields for over 30 years now Ive seen my fair share of redundancies and they are never easy but I feel its part of the game. We have highs and we have lows.

Whats interesting this time around is we are seeing the chinese move in quite invasively this time round. From what Im told it has become easier for these big bullion companies to buy mines and mine it rather than buy it on the market. I see a future of mining companies solely owned by the chinese deep pocketed companies and dominating these small gold rush towns and cities.
