An easy way to resize pictures to 800 x 600 is by using Microsoft Image Resizer Powertoy. Once the small program from microsoft has been installed, you can just 'right click' any image and you have the option of resizing. Resizing to medium gives you the picture resized to 800 x 600 and renamed, so you don't lose your original picture. To upload pictures, in either the public Album, or your own personal gallery, click 'album' at the top of the page. So long as your logged in, then in the Category section you'll have the option of uploading your pictures.. Easy....... Any troubles, just ask. |

Seems like the board is designed to be "best viewed at" 1024x768. I'm not sure that shrinking the banner at the top will help as more than likely the rest of the formatting will be to this size. Frosty, if you have a 17" monitor (nothing special these days Steve |

probably is frosty. I'll bet that if you check your screen settings it will be set to 800x600 (just one step down from what the "native" size of the board is.) |

Hi all, Try not to resize pictures to any larger than 800x600 as it will make the entire thread stretch sideways quite badly. (did it myself, then re-sized) Steve |

Why didn't you say so frosty :computer: minimise all your screens and then RIGHT click on a free area of the desktop select "properties" in the little list that comes up click on the settings tab your screen resolution will be listed about half way down. This is all based on windows xp, but may be the same with earlier windows......i cant remember A 15" monitor should go to 800x600 ok. if that works and you still want better, you can TRY to set it to 1024x768 but i doubt it will work at all. If the screen goes weird just wait 15 second and it will revert. or you can press the "esc" key before the 15 seconds times out. have fun Steve |

Here is a link that will help you resize your photos.Resize photos using XP This is the same little bit of software that earthbound recommends at the top of this thread and is very good and easy to use. It is only a small piece of software and works very easily and well. If anyone wants to ask any questions re this software send me a private email, I can help if you a bit scared to load software onto your computer. I hope this helps If anyone wants to be able to do a bit more than just resize photos then get your hands on a copy of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements or an old copy of ImageReady, send me a private email and I will send you some easy to follow instructions on resizing photos (When I am not killing fish or building boats I teach Photoshop at TAFE) Murray murray@boatshop.com.au www.boatshop.com.au |

Frosty, if you have a 15" LCD flat then you really should be able to go higher, especially if the slider is to the very left (less) side. Itsa more probably than not a video card limitation (or driver issue) Is the computer very old? Steve |
