:) :) :) :) :) Can you keep a secret? Shhhh - just quietly - sooo excited - we have been shortlisted in the Telstra Micro Business Awards and we will be having a visit from two judges later in the week. They will be checking that we have all the things in place that we told them we have. Aaaah! We wil do our best anyway! Apparently we have made it to the top 10%. This category is separate to the Peoples Choice Awards, so keep those votes coming in? :thumbleft: :thumbright:

Well I tried to further impress the judges :D by cooking up a few little treats. Well they were scheduled to come around lunchtime after all. So what is a girl supposed to do? The day started early filleting baramundi and getting the mini quiche in the oven which were decorated by snow pea srouts from my home system. The fish cakes included lemongrass, garlic chives, capsicum and egg and served with a sweet chilli sauce. The herb and garlic dip had basil, parsley, chives and garlic and was served with beans, sliced radish and celery all grown at the shop. For a sweet teat I made matchsticks in the shape of fish, filled with jam and cream. The process was all over in an hour which included the royal tour and lots of questions and answer time. It may be up to four weeks before we get an answer on the Micro business awards. The peoples choice awards is separate to that.

I don't think they'd seen anything like it Charlie! That reminds me, the staff have done a mega cleanup and I should get out and take some photos cause it is looking beautiful. I don't know how they managed to get out of here on time, but they did stop my presentation to ask lots of businessy like questions. We did our best and they went home with a show bag containing stubby holder, pens and magazines which I think they liked. When they arrived Joel and I showed them around the shop, walked them past our "Wall of Fame" introduced them to the rainbow trout and gave a quick lesson in what aquaponics is all about. Ran them past the IBC system and the document printed in all of its 187 pages, showed them the Blue Barrel systems Nat and Joel worked out, the trial systems the hardware, pizza ovens and information boards. :thumbright:
