BK, dunno about bag limits, but i think you're meant to release berried female if you catch any.

I remember why i hate fishing so much.............cause i never catch a bloody thing. There were about 6 HUGE goldies like about the size of a pint glass  a white three red ones and dark ones. They kept teasing me, but i couldn't catch them. should have seen them breaking the water as it got darker, going for the insects. Any one have an idea as to the best way to catch them? I'm going back next weekend under the guise that i'm doing the water way a favour as they are not native............ ;)

Try a throw net

I don;t think that pumping water from one end of Australia to the other is really going to help things a great deal. The whole thing about Perth suburbs using up all of the water isn't quite the full story. You must keep in mind that 70% of all water use is by agriculture, 20 odd percent by industry, and the remaining less than 10% is domestic.. Plus you just need to look at the Murray Darling, that was more water than they could ever possibly use up, or so we have thought over the years. Finally now people are starting to get worried..

The old theory of taking something from where there seems to be abundant almost endless amounts, just doesn't ring true much anymore.. Who would have thought we could run out of fish in the ocean, "There's plenty of fish in the sea!" not so anymore.. Plently of timber in the forests, plenty of agricultural land, plenty of oil and gas. We just seem to lose sight of the flow on effects of our actions sometimes..

OK, we still need to cut down use in houses, but I wish the government would stop spending so much money on advertising campaigns aimed at making the smallest percentile user feel guilty about their usage. Where as people like the commercial hydro grower I went to see, can use ENORMOUS amounts of water, no questions asked..

We need a shift in thinking in western society, reuse of grey water in toilets should be mandatory in all new houses, make rainwater tanks mandatory, even if it's just for bathroom use.

Recycle our water that we have... I couldn't believe hearing on the radio a few months back how some shire in the eastern states that was seriously running out of water. They were having a referendum on whether they would start mixing recycled sewerage water into their town drinking water... The water had been shown to be totally free from pathogens, good clean water, most people couldn't taste the difference, yet there was a big campaign to fight against it being used.... :? What? Like your going to even have a choice a few years down the track...

I could waffle on and on about this stuff, but I shouldn't..... Sometimes we are just sooo short sighted, I almost wonder how we can consider ourselves as an intelligent lifeform...... :)

I hear ya EB, especially on the millions spent on the guilt trip for the 10% users. Great, we all take half as many craps, and half as many showers, and that 5% is going to save the country from the water crisis.................who writes this stuff?

Amen.

Stop funding unsustainable agriculture and get serious about reusing as well as reducing.
