Ok out of interest I did some searching in regards to a previous post about active members.

What is an active member? I dont know.... someone who still uses the forum? Well we have had members come back after years and years so its hard to make accurate numbers but out of interest I have come up with these real time figures for given date ranges:-

(keep in mind for this we assume an active member is someone who has logged in/last visited)

Active members since:-

Last month = 785

Last 2 months = 1105

Jan 2012 = 1664

Jan 2011 = 2931

Jan 2010 = 3637

Jan 2009 = 4238

Jan 2008 = 4704

Jan 2007 = 5106

Jan 2006 = 5273

What is interesting is the amount of active members since the forum began is 5273. Subtract this from the total members of 7000 and you get 1727.

I will have to assume that the 1727 figure comprises of spam members, banned members and members that simply never logged on after aquiring membership?

I went a little further and here is the active member numbers that drop off between years.

2006-2007 = 167

2007-2008 = 402

2008-2009 = 466

2009-2010 = 601

2010-2011 = 706

2011-2012 = 1267

Take in mind we increase in memberships by about 1000/1500 per year.

Im no rocket mathematician so Ill leave it to the brainiacs if anyone wants to disect it further.
