There was a brief bit of time there where the edit button had gone away since the new web site and there were some problems with the forum but I think they got that fixed and back to normal now.

just a quick question......do we get the 5 minute edit button back....Please, please, please

Can we make it longer than 5 minutes?
After all it's designed to stop dickheads deleting they're posts cos they're peeved off... 1 or 2 days worth of posts wont hurt much.
And most of us, after all are reasonable ppl - My personality shouldn't ruin it for everybody else ;-)

We did only put the website up about 3 days ago and there are still a number of things that need to be finished and added to, so please be patient. If you find a glaringly obvious mistake please let us know so that we can fix it to make the experience better for everyone.

Congratulations on the new site. I agree that the text roll over is too fast though.

I have found a couple of typos on the Basics page "But really, there's no excuse not to give aquaponics a go, if you feel a little unsure about starting and you want to makesure you get the best head stat then you can look at starting off with a kit system of some sort.

If your a handy person who prefers trying to build everything from scratch, then keep your eyes peeled at rubish dumps and during verge collections, bathtubs are ideal for aquaponic growbeds, and they have drain fittings preinstalled."

and one on the Designs page
"Chift Pist systems have many advantages over other methods, but they also have a few disadvantages The main advantage of a CHIFT PIST system, is that it means there is no pump in the fish tank, the fish tank stays at a reasonably constant hieght, and if there's ever a pump failure or power failure the fish tank will stay full. Disadvantages are that you need a sump tank with a large volume and a short hieght, to hold the water and you also need a rather tall or raised fish tank."
Hope this helps tighten up what is now a really informative website. :)

Graham

Sorry, just noticed a second one in the same paragraph.

And the dreaded Thr (my favourite is teh" on the Information page
"Backyard Aquaponics Magazine
Thr first edition of the Backyard Aquaponics magazine is available as a free download. The issue was put together by the administrators and moderators of the Backyard Aquaponics Forum, as an informational source to explain the basics of aquaponics, and how aquaponics works."

I better go to bed.

Well I was off to bed and thought I might as well finish reading the information page. The bit about Bill Mollison caught my eye because I was at his talks in Nannup during the 70's. Ah, the healing festivals and the nude hot mud saunas!
Anyway, I think there are a couple of typos in this section.
"Bill Mollison Permaculture
Bill Mollison is the founder of permaculture and has release hundreds of articles, books, DVDs, CDs and information packages to help promote more sustainable practises. Bill is a fantastic presenter and speaks with such passion and enthusiasm. We have been able to source a fairly good quality recording of one of Bill Mollisions' presentations for you to download. This was a workshop that he ran in Nannup, Western Australia.
Note: these recordings have been compressed for ease of downloading, at the expense of sound quality.
Nannup workshop Part 1 (3.8Mb)
Nannup workshop Part 2 (5Mb)
Many thanks to Jeff Newgent and Bill Mollison for making the above two downloads available."
I think Jeff's surname is Nugent and I met him in the 70's as well. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't in the nude mud hot saunas.

Goodnight for definate this time.
Graham

Don't get me wrong, I think it's fantastic. I just know how hard it is to put a site like this up, so hoped we were all being helpful by spotting the little typos that creep in.
