Try again with a tripod and a long exposure... should make the sky blue with a big bolt, and also the forground appear
Multiple bolts will also feature using this method.
Should the forground not appear as you would wish, 'paint' the GB or whatever in the forground, with a torch whilst the camera is exposing.

Painting a night scene is done by panning a torchbeam slowly and steadily across the forground so each section is lit up for the same amount of time.

Still nice bolt for a short exposure!

This one might need a little imagination. Or a little photoshop, or just a delete key :)

Hands up who just spent an hour standing under an umbrella in a lightning storm trying to get a photo of my new system with a bolt of lightning overhead.

It was never going to work, but It would have been pretty cool if it did :)

I'm now the proud owner of 120 black squares, and this... slightly less black square :) That's my grow bed in the foreground at the bottom :) I swear it's there, just under the horizon... it's black... thats why you cant see it! :) and anyway, night time relates to aquaponics. :)

Just take a photo in the same position while its light. we should be able to tell by the back ground silhouettes and we will be able to see your AP system :D

Not a lot of options on a 75$ digital :) exposure was as long as I could make it. It took up to 30 seconds after each shot in some kind of post production. I think it was trying to get an image out of the black :) poor little camera.

I should have had my old SLR's flash gun in hand for fill lighting.

You may wonder what this innocent little fella has to do with aquaponics....Well his first act upon looking into the fish tank and see a fish was to jump in head first and have a bath, before realising he couldn't touch the bottom, and couldn't get out...strangely he hasn't tried this a second time....

I found these landscapes in my blue barrel test system.

The more I look at the the less aquaponics system I see.
