Boy oh Boy, there is some tough competition this time round. The sunflower is a work of art and Bullwinkle I can see a whole landscape in your blude barrel. Looks like a reef with mega fish looking out to the deep sea where the horizon meets the sky. Or is it just my imagination?

The prize? Don't know as yet, but it will be something good, I'll post on here when I figure out what it's going to be.

Best of luck everyone.

Reading back through the thread. Let's not forget what's at stake here :)

Your sales pitch was so inspired that I'd forgotten it was even a competition :)

...

Amazing sunflower! Can you post the details of the pic? Exposure etc... it almost looks like a prism, like the promise of a rainbow.

Hmmm...
Will there be a follow-up poet competition where I can use "Like the promise of a rainbow". It seems a shame to waste it :)

I sent a copy to my mum for her screen saver, and she asked for an explanation of exactly what it was she was looking at. She's not completely nuts as far as I can tell (Hi mum :)* ) so I figure it must be as landscape(y) as I see it as well. I'm glad you see it as a landscape Faye, because if you didnt, It would probably mean my view was somehow genetically induced, so I wouldn't be able to continue to deny my Grandma Bullwinkle defective DNA:)

It makes me wonder if I need to explain what it is my photo actually depicts :)

*Yes, my mum has a secret account here that she wont tell me about so she can follow my research for my blog :)**

**Yes, I'm actually a grownup ***

***Yes, my mum just finished making a fully functional Bugle out of poly pipe fittings for her blog****

**** no, really

Somehow you have managed to capture the south australian state bird thingy, turn it on it's side, maintaining its visual integrity but denying its species specificness. And it's an action shot! :)

!

Well thats gone and destroyed the illusion now.....

Love your landscape pics Bully, very interesting. I was asking a mate last night if he had any idea where the pics were taken, his answer "how the hell would I know, somewhere at the ocean."

Yeah ok...... fairly valid question I guess...

The prize is stupendous... Absolutely marvelous....

Uuuuuummmmmmmmm....

Some printed mags (or equivalent if you already have them) BYAP cap, stubby holder, BYAP shirt, and $100 credit to spend on whatever you want from the BYAP shop.

And your winning picture will be in the BYAP mag, as well as your face, if you want it in there....

Notoriety, clothes, reading matter and shop credit.... What more could you want....

Very beautiful picture! What kind of Fx did you apply to it? The exif data says you used photoshop. I have Photoshop but I just use it to clean pics up and put my friend's faces on other people's bodies :geek:

like this:

I'd love to be able to make my pics pop out like yours without making it look too artificial. I guess I can only use photoshop for obvious extreme stuff... /sigh The best I've been able to do is the "I'm feeling lucky" button on google picasa XD

BTW I'm SO jealous of your weather since this is what my backyard looked like on December 26th :(
