When: First Tuesday of each month except January (no meeting held that month).
Doors open 7:30pm - Meetings Start: 8.00pm

Where: Rotary Hall, Sandgate St, South Perth (Western Australia)

Fish growers around the country are beginning to learn about the age old practices of growing plants from the waste water produced by fish. Environmentalists and growers, from commercial producers to backyard farmers are learning new and simple ways of growing fresh, healthy produce saving them valuable time, energy and money.
If nothing else "Aquaponics is Simple" and can be a rewarding hobby. Raised beds are an ideal height, there is no bending and digging, making it the ideal for the elderly. No ongoing soil improvement, in fact being soiless means there are no soil borne pests and diseases. More plants can be grown in less space as there isn't the same competition for moisture an nutrients. "You can have your fish and eat it too".
If you would like to hear more come along to the "Perth Cichlid Society" meeting, for further details click on the link below

Oh and in case your wondering whats happening there, Faye is doing a talk at their monthly meeting. The group are very keen to have other aquaponics forum members come along for the evening and meet some of the cichlid members, so if your not doing anything on the night, pop along.

I'd say you chose well when Faye joined the team Joel. :thumbleft:

Our garden and Ap will be in the Narrogin Spring Festival this year. (Same as Nocky's last year.) BYAP are welcome to use our facilities here to explain, advertise, or whatever if you wish.

Sounds like the talk was a great success, well done Faye... Here are a few comments on their forum http://www.perthcichlid.com.au/forum/in ... opic=32408

They filmed the night as well and should have a video up in the next few days for members to view.
