Anyone interested in a Brisbane AP pre-Xmas get-together?
I will be getting (and sharing) 200 Jade Perch in about 4 to 5 weeks time and I thought that if some others are coming to pick-up their fish, after I collect them from SEQ Fish, that it would be a good time to have a BBQ and libations at my humble abode at Mt. Crosby. We have a lot of AP in and around the western suburbs of Brisbane and I would enjoy your company, critisms and suggestions on my own wee system.
Give me a PM if interested and we will work out the details?

Cheers IanK

Depending on the timing, I would be interested in coming along. I've got to collect fingerlings so I reckon I can stay long enough for a BBQ and an AP chat :)

cheers
Derek

Xmas update;
I am officially a certified Fish Killer. Ordered and picked up 200 jade Perch on saturday 18th, put them into the prepared Fish tank ready for other APers to pick up in the morning. When derekh, Timmoie and ryangus were to pick them up, faces fell and I had to tell them that things are not good.
Anyone for Jade Perch fritters!

All 200 dead, not one survivor! We finally attributed it to lack of DO, no Nitrification and a combination of factors including no media in GBs & the like.

Will retify mistakes and pick up more between Xmas and New Years.
Poor little blighters, I will do better next time.
Cheers IanK :|

Xmas BBQ.
Forgetting the fish drama, I want to report that the BBQ was a wonderfull sucess, with the occassion putting real faces and voices to those APers whom we just read about.
If all the populations were of a similar ilk; friendly, informed and a great sense of humour, the world would definitely be a better place!
Thanks to those who attended the day and I'm sure you all enjoyed it as much a I did.
Thanks to Murray for the gifts of the smoked Jades, tomatoes and all things Aquaponic, thanks to Gary for the IBC and thanks to all for your company and good will.

Thank you for the hospitality Ian. Even though I was only there for a short time, I enjoyed myself and it was great to meet everyone in person. A nice relaxing place you have... can just imagine sitting out on the deck with a beer watching an arvo storm pass over. 8)

A shame about the fish. They have such a nice colouration in the light. One big fella on the right there too... :(

Cheers,
