| Post subject: | pond going green |
We have done our first AP setup and have introduced fish a week later. since we introduced the fish the pond is going greenish. we have an old bath with 200L of expanded clay as a filter and a second grow bed with water plants. the pond is in full sun till about mid afternoon. Do I need to run a separate filter? |

This is common early on in systems and has little to do with filtration. It is mostly to do with light. Cover the tank from light completely and the green will disappear in a few days. The problem also occurs in older systems, but it seems the surges of different types of nutrient at the beginning of a system seem to promote it even more so. |
