Hi, I am new to this forum but my husband and I have 4 successful systems running at the moment (will posts pics of these soon). We are hoping to sell this starter system to people who are interested in starting Aquaponics. This system includes : fish tank grow bed submersible pump all plumbing fittings with an auto siphon for the grow bed We are hoping to sell this for $500. Any thoughts, comments and interest welcome.

Welcome to the forum mate... and a great piece of gratuitous advertising to introduce yourself with... P.S.... not sure why people would want to buy one of your IBC systems... considering we give away the plans for how to build one... free... here on the forum.... it's probably where you got the design from |

Hi Food & Fish, Could you let me know where you buy your plumbing fittings, syphon, pump and IBC from for $200? Unfortunately we seemed to have been duped and paid $200 for the food grade IBC by itself. |

I pay $50 for my IBCs so yes, sounds like you got stung for yours. My current bill for plumbing for 1 ibc ft, 3 x gb's and 2 x filters is about $125. Maybe a requirement for setting up AP should bea Google course? Acolyte's luvverly phone on Tapatalk |

We sell a complete T-barrel system for $321. We also sold an IBC kit for $435, this included an uncleaned uncut IBC plus all the parts including clay, pump, fittings etc, etc... I don't think that the price is so bad considering the labour that goes into things cutting and painting. A few people scoff at the price of our T-barrel system, but when you look at the labour that goes into cutting one up and getting it all ready, and yes we've timed it, and Nat is getting pretty good at it. Well, there's not a lot of money in it. And we've sold a dozen T-barrel kits in the last 9-10 months.. |

But EB your also filling your systems with Hydroton no? I assume that's a big cost in what is otherwise a relatively cheap system. This one for sale only has blue metal by the looks of it. Wol |

Thanks for clearing that up earthbound. The labour does cut out the profit somewhat, considering my husband painted it and also welded up the frame to make it tidy. I don't think people get into AP for the money as there are probably more profitable things to do. At the end of the day it is about trying to sell a starter system so that people can start seeing the benefits of this type of gardening. This system has become too small for our needs but might be perfect for someone else's. |

Yeah the price probably isn't that bad... I've seen similar systems... with bodgey little pumps, tubing and siphons... selling for more than $500.... And yep... there's labour involved in cutting/making them... |
