Hi All, I am in a position to be able to create an iPhone App that is AP originate. Can people make suggestion to what things would be useful such as entering daily water, temperature readings that you can real time see in a chart and upload to the web if need be. Anything others...I can later within BYAP approval of course where the app allows you see messages and news from this forum and reply etc. Bring on ideas for me...maybe have a database on common areas such as fish species, knowledge base...just throwing it out there. Cool Yeah, one to record the water quality readings (temp, pH, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, & others) and display them graphically would be good. Also, something like an AP diary to record comments, pics, etc would be good. |

earthbound..it can be very handy for your sake. iPhone is being used to keep people up-to-date with news, new products, sales etc. You push messages those those users that want to know what is happening rather than I have to login all the time. and find it. Great sales tool but more importantly keeps people in touch where ever they maybe. |

System planning assistant. You walk around "marking" the boundaries of your system, or where pipes will start and end. You plug in a fish tank, grow beds, etc. where you want them and total pipe, media and other materials are calculated (like a shopping list in some of those recipe apps). Change a pipe diameter and see how fill & drain times are affected. Your location will yield climate data and you can see what fish will fit what growing season. When you could start what size tilapia fry, or trout, and finish to what size before conditions get too cold/hot for that fish. What would be a good companion fish. Why not Lunar planting guide reminders. Put 'em in there. Really well suited to the iPad (graphics could end up being pretty cool) but doable on the Touch and iPhone indeed. I'd buy it. Rick p.s. Easter egg could be a match-the-toe-to-the-Aquaponian game. |

After only two weeks... it has totally confirmed my opinion of it's complete worthlessness... Lots of "apps"... virtual bling and bullshit... sorry I just don't get the point of meaningless chit chat... I can at least get some real substance here,or on other forums.... and enjoy social chitchat over a beer... by going around to see my friends... real people... not virtual clones... And "twitter".... FFS.... |

Sminfiddle...ideas are gratefully noted. I like the Lunar planting. Location and determining which fish to grow at that time is awesome...bring them on. Totally can related but it is the idea of punching the numbers in then and there rather than having to fire up the PC, fire up Excel, punch it in or download the photo that I took to add to my diary etc. That seems to me to add up my life away. Quote: hmm this thread is making me yearn for a BYAP forum browser app again. Well with the right access etc. there is no reason why you can not do this |
