Mr Casey James is now getting a little shrill.. and even sillier..

He'd previously claimed to have "accidentally" copied the stuff... in a hurry.. to advertise a course they were hosting... which he also attended.. a year or more ago...

But the web site was only registered in January this year...

When I challenged him about his "concept drawing" and production claims for his newly incorporated Thailand venture... he's now claiming the production figures are based upon an aquaponics course he took ... presumably the Max Meyers course above...

And when I suggested the concept drawing had significant design flaws... he responded by saying... "it's an old drawing"...

Why would you put up an old, flawed concept drawing.. on a new site.. for a newly incorporated venture in a new country.....

Anyway.. he claims that they are now proceeding with building a commercial aquaponics system in Thailand....

I've asked him to actually post photos of his previous "proof of concept" aquaponic systems... and his previous commercial systems... upon which he is basing his credibility to actually advise/design or build a commercial system in Thailand...

I don't expect a reply...

I agree with goatse, i would of added the text "some a55hole is stealing my bandwidth" tho To the image

Aquaponics sure seems to bring out the scammers! I run a few sites, one large forum and we dont have these issues at all.

That guy is only a one off user... What still annoys me the most is the aquaponics 4 you guy. I'm still waiting for his lawyers here to contact me, taking me to court for what I have said about him and his product. It's happening, but these things take time he says.

Anyway, in the mean time I decided that I would follow up his suggestion. He said early on that:

Quote:
If you have problems with affiliates copying your content we cant do anything unless you tell us. Most of our affiliates are good individuals, but we know that sometimes not everyone acts ethically. In such case you can either let us know and we will suspend their account or you can contact clickbank.com (The affiliate network) directly and they will do that themselves.

So I sent him a couple and he deleted their accounts a couple of months ago... Then over the last week or so I've sent him about one a day. All websites pirating images, selling his e-manual.

This one is a classic backyard-aquaponics DOT org He uses images from just about every major aquaponics site on the internet, every time you hit reload you see other peoples images. And of course selling the aquaponics 4 you manual..

But now after I have sent him a stack of affiliate sites selling his book and pirating peoples images he says:

Quote:
Its easier for you, for any complaint you can contact clickbank at: www DOT clickbank.com/reportproblem.html

Unfortunately clickbank does not allows vendors (like me) to have control over affiliates so while its in my best interest to report any affiliates that are using illegal means of promotion, clickbank is at the end of the day the one that can do something about it (i cant suspend affiliate accounts, nor have access to affiliate details) Anyways contact clickbank directly will speed up the entire process as well.

:upset:

And Clickbank want any copyright infringement problems mailed to them via registered post in the US as hard copies.. People can pirate images and use them with just a couple of clicks, then a string of people profit from it, the affiliate, clickbank and the originator of the document. But to get those images removed takes a huge amount of jumping through hoops.. :dontknow: :upset: This is a case of the free market gone bad...

If you want a good lawyer to use in the US my lawyer may know one who would specialize in this. I go to see him soon for something and I could ask him. If his books and everything contain your images you might be able to get compensated. Copyright law here is very strict, to strict for its own good but this is a case where its right and just to protect your company. If this joker passes off bad info people are probably going to think its this site not him due to the .org/.com.

If someone hotlinks info for a blog who cares but to pass themselves off as some expert using info stolen that has someone else's blood sweat and tears on it is just not right.

Unfortunately that only works if people are hot linking directly, the ones above are saving the pictures, renaming them, and palming them off as their own sort of stuff on their webpages..

Unfortunately it's the whole system that sort of fails, if anything it's clickbank that's ultimately at fault but they have built the system around them to bypass any responsibility..

The people that use the clickbank affiliates method to make money, register a site for $10 then host it somewhere for probably another $10. They get a really cheap website made up or make it themselves using a variety of information that is provided to them by the e-book seller. To make the website look good, they just grab whatever images they want from the internet to include in their site then bang it's done, they move onto the next e-book they want to sell, and start all over again making new sites selling other e-products.

They make a few cents off each click back to the e-book sellers main site, or a couple of bucks if some of them sell the ebook directly.

But these sites are small, they put very little effort and cost into them, if you try and chase them down with lawyers they just shut that site, or remove the images and go on with their other stuff. One person may have many dozens if not hundreds of these affiliate sites making them small amounts from each one..

If you chase after the e-book creator/seller, he just says, "I'm not responsible for what the affiliates do", if you chase after click bank they say "we disagree with piracy and that is terrible that they are pirating, we will shut them down immediately so long as you can jump through all of these hoops first".

But it takes huge costs in both time and money for someone like ourselves to deal with just one of these little websites, and these people can start up another 2-3 the next day using more images they grab from online..

And then when I say bad things about the ebook seller, I get sent cease and desist notices from lawyers because I'm slandering.. While he continues to profit from other peoples piracy, one step removed claiming he's an angel...

Take this one for example.. The website is only 5 pages, every link leads to the aquaponics4you sellers website.

Main photo, Dr Savadov's system in Canada. Small image under it is farm in a box, and the image below that is from Rebecca Nelson, the cover of their book..

Next page has an image from Marc Laberge in Canada, and I'm not sure about the other one.

This is Murray Hallams picture...

So a total of 5 pages on the site, all made from a simple template using other peoples pictures on every page, all links leading to Mr aquaponics4you's ebook... And claiming copyright at the bottom of every page as well...

Now I'd like to make it very clear that I don't claim that mr AP4U is pirating anything, it's just the other people selling his stuff...

(added this because I think I'll send him a link to this page, because any communications with him have broken down)

If Mr AP4U.. would just stop peddling his crappy stuff via the affilaite marketing scam... and just get off his arse and promote it himself...

He wouldn't have all the problems... or have to enforce his affiliates...'

He chooses to do neither... bugger him... he's a scum sucking parasite...

hahaha... A little call out to a hydro shop here in Perth that has started selling AP systems that are almost an exact copy of ours.. You need to put a stand pipe or siphon into the growbed guys otherwise only the bottom 1 inch of clay is getting wet as the water flows down to the bottom of the bed, along the base and down the drain pipe.. We've had calls from one of your customers having issues with it.. :)

Oh and nice work on copying our nitrification diagram... Pretty much identical, changed only one word.. Really original in all areas....

I just went looking to see if I can find the business discussed above when I found what I think is another Perth Hydroponic business selling Aquaponics. They had a YouTube video of a segment which must have featured on TV.

It said that the water is returned pure and crystal clear to the fish. You couldn't see the bottom of the tank and it wasn't a tall tank either.
