It can... but I wouldn't... there are other ways of adjusting pH... and they're usually cheaper...

Agreed Rupe, just quizzing. I got a feeling a friend of mine uses it. So you say not for the simple reason of price or it may be harmful in some way??

kinda off topic for this discussion but...

Well it depends on the particular pH up/down product you are talking about. Some can be used just fine, others are likely to cause issues (I've seen one pH down product that include ingredients like ammonia and citric acid and the ammonia caused the system to have way too high an ammonia level then the citric acid slowed the cycling process to boot.)

Cost is certainly a big factor... but, particularly with pH down, there are other concerns...

Some pH down products essentially use phosphoric acid, or (in the case of pool pH down) Sulphuric Acid... or even Nitric acid...

Adding levels of phosphate to your system can result in an algael bloom... or high phosphate loading... and high sulphate or nitrate levels aren't necessarily good...

Many of the pH down products are based on Sodium Thiosulphate... which has some significant concerns for health according to some research...

As well as the above... using these style of products can also engender a "chemical" approach to aquaponics that can be a little dangerous IMO...

Yeah, unfortunately embedding of youtube videos is something thats easy to do on almost any site, just as we embed videos in this forum, they can put them in their blogs, etc.. They can even embed the youtube comments in their pages to make it look like they created the video, AND people have been making comments on their site..

:upset:

Amazon is getting a little out of control, seems that anyone can sell anything... Someone is selling a 1200 word article on aquaponics for $5.95 ?

And some guy is trying to pass himself off as Steve Diver, and selling the article he wrote about aquaponics for $13.95. This is the one which everyone can download for free from many different places on the internet.. The same guy is selling a number of different articles by Steve Diver

Man, amazon really needs to get it together, surely they just can't just let itself become a haven for scammers to sell pirated material, that's really poor from such a large company....

Hi,
As a designer my advice would be that if you don't want people to use your images you need to save them as a flash image, that way the only way they can use it is to get a low res screen grab.
It's a sad state of affairs when you have to do that to avoid image theft though.

Also it might be good to setup a different email address and send the initial email with a very VERY official and stern letterhead from your 'legal team' asking them to cease and desist using images and IP that are covered by the copyright logo shown on your web page.
