No. Because they will appropriate those pictures and claim them as their own works. If they have no shame ripping off BYAP photos and images, what make you think they'll stop at your photos?

And that's precisely what I fear Tea20....

At least she is trying to give things a bit of a go and her heart seems to be in the right place, even if the information is a bit misguided.

Where as this guy below........ :upset:

http://hobbygardnerDOTcom/

He is selling the crappy "ultimate aquaponics guide." And he's just released the hobby gardener site mentioned above where he has used others pictures, including a couple of mine.

Every link you click after that is asking for your email address... I suppose that is where he will flood you with lots of other materials... and possibly claiming that it was all his work...

I wouldn;t bother.... It's about 400 words long, recommends that you go and buy the "ultimate aquaponics guide", and they will email you more information as the guide grows in coming weeks...

Heres a sample...

Quote:
You have fish and you have plants. The plant lives in some sort of container like you would normally expect (except not using the soil you are used to). The fish live in a different container. The plant get's it's water from the fish container. Plants need food to live, which they also get from the fish water. The fish need clean water. This process of the plant eating and drinking from the fish water cleans the water too! It's clean, organic, natural and fun.

To be fair that was his simple description, there was a technical definition as well.

Quote:
Technical Description: Aquaponics is the blending of aquaculture (fish-keeping) and hydroponics (growing plants without soil). In an aquaponic system the fish, plants, and various bacteria form a symbiotic group: the fish eat food and excrete waste. The fish waste is consumed by the bacteria which break it down in to nitrates, which are absorbed by the plants. This cycle helps clean the water of waste products, which keeps the over-all system habitable.

That's pretty much half of the guide with both of those definitions... :geek:

Ah of course. This guy was the original "Jenny's Gardening Blog" guy.. For those who don't know, he had a blog where he made himself out to be a 70 odd year old woman that loved gardening. "She" had come across this great idea called aquaponics, she loved it, and recommended that you buy "the ultimate aquaponics home system guide" on her blog.. Back then he had used other peoples photos as well, and he apologized and pulled down Jennys gardening blog.

Anyway, I had a couple of email exchanges with him last night...

Quote:
The pictures you have used on your website are not yours. Please remove them immediately...

Quote:
Can you please be more specific?

Quote:
I think I figured out one of them and removed it. I know at least two of them are not yours, but I am not sure about the other two, just let me know which ones and I will change them. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So he removed the 2 pictures that were specifically mine and replaced them with other pictures he has pulled off the net. He also removed the direct link he had at the bottom of the web page to his "ultimate guide" website, perhaps trying to separate the two a bit in case of a backlash. I sent him this today but there's bugger all that I can do really.

Quote:
Come on, you know that none of those photos are yours, and you haven’t got permission to use any of them. The aquaponics industry is rather small, I’ve spoken with you before about using others photos when you had Jennys gardening blog, stop trying to scam people while riding on the backs of other peoples stuff.
