I was sure Troutman had stock available in October last week when I checked but when re-checking just now it seems they are indeed sold out now with only fry available in February.... Curious. :dontknow:
Troutman?

With Troutman being out of stock (all pre-ordered which shows how silly I was not to put an order in!), I'm planning to get mine from Carey Nagle up in Gidgegannup. Next to Troutman he is the next best thing I'm lead to believe. If you search Silver Perch in 'Western Australia', as opposed to Perth Region etc, his ad will come up.

I purchased some from Golden Ponds in Baldivis recently since they are seriously close to me. Not overly impressed with either their facilities, their animal welfare practices, nor the state of the fish.

After telling the gentleman that I wanted to purchase some fish to eat, instead of humanely dispatching them on the spot, he just scooped them into a (waterless) bag and handed them over while I looked at the flapping bag in disbelief and drove the 5 minutes home like a madman to put them in a bucket while I worked out what to do with my clearly undersized fish.

One of the smallest ones ended up in the pond where he continues to kick around, but the other small one had sustained some injuries during capture and I decided he was best off in my belly with his older sibling.

Yeah im pretty sure everything I have already has someones name on it. I didnt have a great breeding season last year so my stocks were much lower than the last few years, also the on sellers and commercial growers get there orders in quickly and order 1000's at a time.

Better to be sold out than struggling to move stock :)
I will get myself organised and work out how many Trout I want for next year well in advance instead.

It dosent matter where you buy your Perch from in Perth as most will have come from either my farm, Careys or one of the farms to the north of Perth. The shops in the Perth area just buy them in triple the price (at a minimum) of what they paid and then sell them on. The quality of the fish will depend on the practices of the place selling them.

As far as Trout go I dont think there will be any shortages again in a hurry as some of the farms down Pemberton way are cranking up production to meet the demand for aquaponics.

If there are members looking for SP, Spangled perch, Jades, catfish or Redclaw around Northern NSW or SEQ I can help out starting November.
