Well, title says it all. I have 60ish trout and wondered about 5 carp to mop up the left over food and also keep the system ticking over if i have to harvest trout in any extremely hot weather, which is highly unlikely in north of England but you never know.

Some people have had success with Silver Perch and Trout in the same tank, so there's a chance that carp and trout can live together.

You'd just need to be sure they were the same size though, if the carp were small I'd say they'd be torn apart.

I had them living there fine.
I think the trick is to introduce the trout to the tank after the carp have established themselves

I have had them living happily together and as long as the carp are too big for the trout to eat there is no problem.

I doubt you're allowed to move carp from anywhere to anywhere else in Australia. ie from a river to your garden.

I'm guessing there would be steep fines for doing so.
