Hi all I was just looking at the Clark tanks website and they had this trough available, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with their products? http://www.clarktanks.com.au/Farm-Products-Troughs.htm

You lose a little depth at the sides. I like the round ones next to it. It may depend on how big your system is going to be. |

Looks like they could work. Depends on the pricing of course. I personally like deep grow beds for good solids handling capacity. |

Just following up on this. I think many people would like to know what the pricing is, but the originakl poster seems to have done a post and run. The 2400 x 1000 x 550 is roughly $530 delivered. This will give a 1320 litre capacity. Ofcourse the real capacity will be less due to the corners. Sadly, it seems like a good deal given whats available in the Australian market currently. Alhtough I did buy a watertank for $625 which if cut at 550mm will give 1643 litres of volume at a diametre of 1.95m 1320LT / $530 = 2.49 lp$ 1643LT / $625 = 2.63 lp$ Anyone have a better Litres per $ ratio? |

I'm not sure if its better per litre, but I worked out that per sq/m of growbedspace @ 300mm deep, it was hard to go past the 1100mm round fish ponds from "B". two provides about the same area as the 500l BYAP/Murrays growbeds, for about 1/2 the price. |

Considerations include are they food grade and uv stabilised? Also BYAP beds when stocked with 500l media have free board, so would probably actually be more like 700 litre growbeds. |

vlt - Faye means space/volume remaining. When you put 500L of media into the BYAP growbed, it's not full up to the top - there's still about 40-50mm to go. |

Thanks for that...seems I get tunnelled into calculating my own numbers.... With those numbers, the BYAP are quite competitive.... |
